AECP Level 1 Easy Die Cutting Techniques

Updated: Sep 28, 2025

Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m sharing two cards featuring a fun technique from the Easy Die Cutting Techniques course: creating a stencil with your dies! I’d love to hear which one you like best. ✨

I chose the Ornate Cover Die, which had been patiently waiting in my stash for its debut. I cut it from an older glitter cardstock—perfect for stenciling since it holds up well with acrylic paint, paste, or ink blending.

For today’s cards, I went with ink blending. I used Frosty Pink Fresh Dye Ink, applying it heavily in the center and letting it fade toward the edges for a soft, airy effect.

To embellish the first card, I die-cut two delicate flower sprigs from a light pink watercolored panel using a die from the Itty Bitty Branches Die Set. I popped them up with foam tape to the left of the stencilled area, then layered the panel onto a white card base. To add some extra interest, I placed a stripe of pink washi tape from the Red Sunset Slim Washi Tape Set and a stripe of light golden sparkle paper along the edge.

For the sentiment, I used the Sweet Sentiments Die Set, cutting it from the same sparkle paper for a touch of shine.

I loved how the stencil turned out, so I recreated the design with Mossy Meadow Fresh Dye Ink for my second card.

This time, I used the same light pink watercolored panel—which, by the way, I had also splattered with light golden specks—to cut out a flower using the Gardenia Layering Die Set. I assembled the layers with a bit of foam tape for dimension and placed the gardenia, once again, to the left of the stencilled background. (I seem to have a favorite side! 😆)

For extra texture, I tucked in some vellum leaves cut with the Itty Bitty Branches Die Set and the Gardenia Layering Die Set. The sentiment, also cut from the pink watercolored panel, got a soft shimmer with a second layer painted in light golden watercolor. Finally, I added the finished panel to a card base.

Now, I’d love to hear from you—which of these two cards is your favorite? Drop a comment below! 💬✨

Thank you so much for stopping by, and happy crafting! 🎨✂️💖
