Two Dreams in Peach & Purple

Hello Crafty Friends,

I had so much fun creating two cards for the Altenew August 2026 Inspiration Challenge! I followed the challenge colour combination of purple, peachy orange and grey, but instead of keeping things realistic, I decided to let these beautiful colours create a little dream world of their own.

A sweet finch is perched on one of two coneflowers, surrounded by soft, dreamy colours and a little sparkle. I stamped and stencilled the images before die-cutting them, using partial die-cutting and a bit of fuzzy cutting because the finch and the coneflowers are two separate dies. Both are part of the Altenew Bird on Bloom Stencil, Stamp and Die Set. I then added the scene to a sparkling die-cut frame, Altenew Sparkled Frame cut from Altenew Moonstone Glitter Cardstock and finished the card with a press-plate-printed and die-cut sentiment from Altenew One-Go: Solid Circular Sentiments Set.

I absolutely love how this one turned out! The unusual colour combination, the dimensional bird-and-flower arrangement, and the sparkle all came together to create a card that feels almost like a little dream. It may not be a realistic finch—but I think that is part of the fun! ❤️

And because the color combination is so appealing I made a second card for this challenge.

This one is a gate-fold card with an interlocking frame.

I used the following Altenew products to create it:

Alhambra Mosaic Cover Die

Craft-A-Flower: Butterfly Ranunculus Layering Die Set

Sparkled Frame Die

Leafy Splendor 3D Embossing Folder

Metallic Cardstock in Brushed Silver

Fresh Dye Inks: Coral Dust, Icy Water, Tickled Pink

Permanent Mist Gray Pigment Ink

and Enchanted Garden Enamel Dots

Which one do you like best, the finch or the floral card? Please let me know in the comments. Thank you! And thanks for taking the time to read through my blog post. Happy crafting! ❤️
